Submissions

At Disconnected Press, we want to produce beautiful comics that showcase the best emerging creators in the UK and also provide a platform for newer artists and writers to show their work to a broader audience.

We are a new venture and we don’t know what the future will hold. This means that we can’t guarantee that your work will be accepted for inclusion in a Disconnected publication. What we can say is that everyone who follows the guidelines will get a fair hearing and, to the best of our ability in the available time, some feedback on their work.

Artists

If you would like to draw for Disconnected Press, we would love to hear from you. Send us a link to your blog, DeviantArt page or website, and tell us a little bit about who you are, what you’ve done and why you’re passionate about drawing comics.

Bear in mind: our comics are rooted in the real world (so far) so we’d like to see how well you can create people, places and the everyday, as well as how wild your imagination can be.

Writers

If you would like to write for Disconnected Press, we’d like to see samples of your work. This could be scripts that you’ve had published elsewhere (tell us where and when) or unpublished material. Try to send us 4-6 pages of well-scripted story to show us your understanding of how comics work, character, setting, pacing, plot and dialogue.

If you have a blog, send us a link, and please do tell us about yourself, your writing, any work you’ve had published and why you’re passionate about comics.
