This weekend will see the Disconnected Press tour bus (um, well, us on a train) heading north of the border for Edinburgh Comic Convention.

The convention runs on Saturday and Sunday at Potterow, 5/2 Bristo Square, Edinburgh EH8 9AL. Tickets can be bought on the door and all the timings etc are available at www.heroconventions.com.

So, what are we looking forward to?

IMG_4980TOM FOSTER! Tom’s art featured in Disconnected Vol 1, and he also contributed as both writer and artist to our political satire anthology CROSS. Not content with working for Little Old Disconnected Press, he’s got himself a whole bunch of work for 2000AD too – and it’s very well-deserved. I don’t know if Tom’ll be sketching this weekend, but if he is, go and join the queue for some fantastic artwork! (I’m sure he’ll be signing copies of CROSS too!).

Speaking oCoverf CROSS – we’ll be bringing political satire anthology CROSS to Scotland for the first time. As well as Tom Foster, we have quite the contingent of Scots creators in the book including Emma Beeby, Dave Baillie, Tom Eglington and long-time resident of the Highlands Richmond Clements. We’re also hopeful that CROSS artist Conor Boyle will have on hand copies of On Dangerous Ground, the award-winning graphic novel of the Battle of Bannockburn published for the National Trust for Scotland last year (if we don’t have copies on the day, you can order one at http://www.nts.org.uk/Shop/Product/On-Dangerous-Ground-Bannockburn-Graphic-Novel/).

DisPrSentientZobieSpacePigs_001Unleashing the pigs! This will be the first trip to Scotland for our comic tribute to the undead: Sentient Zombie Space Pigs. Issues 1 and 2 will be available, opulently priced at £1 each. Described on Down The Tubes as “a cracking comic… with a darn fine script and fantastic art”, Sentient Zombie Space Pigs is a must this weekend!

Come and find us at Edinburgh Comic Con on Saturday 11 April and Sunday 12 April. We’re happy to talk comics, review portfolios, read submissions, sell you lovely comics and sketches and generally sort the world out with you 🙂 What could be nicer?
